When the pandemic stops, tourism starts. Saying that we wish to point out the fact, that when life won’t be disturbed by the virus anymore, tourism will heal itself without a problem. The problem is the time until then, during the pandemic. In these times, we have limited options of travel and maybe even damaged trust in the environment outside of our homes, since the majority of us are being quarantined and isolated. The desire to travel will always exist within people, the question is how to do it now? Therefore, we played with the idea of how to get people back on track and tourism out of the shock it fell into because of the global lockdown.
Considering our home country Slovenia developed a plan for sustainable and green tourism way before COVID-19 pandemic started, we wish to continue with such measures now more than ever since we are faced with a blank canvas in this particular sector.
Since there is no global tourism without local tourism, we prepared a strategy plan on different levels to help getting tourism in the EU back on its feet. Going from local through regional to EU-based.
