Inspiration
We were inspired by Dr. Russel Bradford's website which as a last year student project suggested for a navigation system around campus.
What it does
The app allows you to navigate around campus using WiFi signal instead of GPS. It also allows users to scan the wifi signals in the area and upload their position and WiFI data to a server.
How we built it
We built it in Android studio, using Java. We also used PHP so that multiple users can scan the wifi and upload their WiFi signal and so that the Machine Learning algorithm can then elaborate it. The Machine Learning algorithm was developed in python using TensorFlow and was exported to TensorFlowLite so that it could be used on an Android App.
What's next for CamCam
Our future goal is to collect as much data as we can around campus so that we can navigate with ease. Then we'll pitch the project to other university campuses.
