  A conversation with the chatbot

Since we are college students who often have to balance rigorous classes with other components of our lives, it can be difficult to manage our time efficiently. So our group decided we wanted to create some sort of helper that could assist us with our time-management.

Calndr AI is a chatbot that builds personalized schedules to help users plan their daily lives more efficiently and maximize their productivity.

We built Calndr AI with Python, HTML and Gemini API/Google Cloud.

Challenges we ran into included converting our terminal based code into a webpage, constant debugging, figuring out how the frontend (HTML) could communicate with the Python backend and figuring out how to use API keys.

Accomplishments that we're proud of include learning how to use Gemini API/Google Cloud and being able to make a working webpage.

We learned how to integrate AI APIs into a webpage, including managing conversation history and handling frontend-backend communication.We also gained experience collaborating under time pressure and quickly finding and fixing errors to get a working product.

Next, we hope to improve Calndr AI’s user interface and make the chatbot smarter at handling more complex time-management scenarios. We also plan to explore releasing it online so that anyone can access it easily, and potentially add personalization features to make the schedules even more tailored to individual users' needs.
