Inspiration
Inspired from other mindfulness apps, such as Headspace and Calm, we aimed to make the software more personalized and specified to people's needs
What it does
CalmSync personalizes mindfulness sessions to help users achieve a calm state of mind in the least amount of time.
How we built it
We built CalmSync using React, one of the most popular JavaScript libraries, and Mantine UI, a versatile React component library. Our tech stack also includes other basic front-end languages, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
Finding tone from a voice recording based off of phonetics and vocabulary Time management and determining what is most important to do.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating a voice-to-text tool using AssemblyAI API, then detecting mood from the vocabulary. A clean and sleek site which encompasses emotional journaling, a dashboard, and a tone indicator from audio. Recorded and recommended mindfulness videos.
What we learned
We learned how to use various tools, such as React, Mantine, AssemblyAI's API, and also localstorage.
What's next for CalmSync
Improving and further personalizing the recommended sessions. Making the app support more devices and improving the UI/UX to be more user-friendly.
