Inspiration

Many innovative companies are looking for new, effective ways to boost employee wellness. The power of mindfulness has been on the rise for many employers that are looking to help improve productivity, boost mental-wellbeing, and reduce some stress in the workplace. Research has shown how practicing mindfulness on a regular basis can train your brain to better process emotions, stress, and help you focus on the present moment. One of the most popular ways to practice mindfulness is through meditation.

What it does

Calm.ai allows users to meditate with focus and alerts them if they are getting distracted, senses their emotional health using speech and tracks their previous sessions and gives an overall analysis on their meditation performance.

How we built it

Frontend - Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, Javascript
Backend - SQLite3, Django
ML - Keras, Sci-Kit Learn, MediaPipe, OpenCV, Librosa, Python

Challenges I ran into

This being my first Full stack development project and with no prior experience or knowledge of backend and frontend, it took me a lot of time to understand and implement new topics and fail along the way. But the motivation to build something kept me going.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Without any help and pushing through all the problems and setbacks that came along the way, I'm really proud of myself for not giving up and going through and finishing it to my fulfillment. I'm also feeling happy that I got to learn so much, and this is going to help me in my journey as a full stack developer and it has brought back my spark and interest in tech.

What we learned

Learnt all the basics of django framework and how the app works, learnt about html, css, bootstrap to build frontend.

What's next for Calm.ai - Your Go to Meditation App

Will add the functionality for users to login and track their activity, and for the admin to keep track of which employee is meditating and who is not.
