We were all really angry at annoying callers that made our lives more irritating, and we all believed that it shouldn't cost money just for peace of mind and that's what we set out to do when we created CALLERiD.
How it works
Our app checks the name of the caller via the whitepages public api, and gives the user a notification in order to notify them that we know the caller.
Challenges I ran into
There were difficulties with Android Studio as well as with integrating the design for the app to make it as appealing as possible, while not losing efficiency. Lack of time was also an issue.
Accomplishments we are proud of
Getting the app to work in all was a struggle, but we are extremely proud that we got the app to work while still being elegant and simple.
What I learned
We learned how to better use object's in our development as well as working with XML alongside Java in order to make a fluid and beautiful application.
What's next for CALLERiD
Advancing features, such as being able to block callers and to put them on the do not call list, we also want to add a history tab.
