Call It! leans into the absurdity of the premise of treating coin flips as intense, life-or-death battles. It's tailor-made for players who appreciate humor and silliness. Fans of anime should also feel right at home with the over-the-top imagery applied to something otherwise mundane.
I’m really excited about Call It!:
- The Feel. Swiping up to flip the coin should feel amazing - just like the physical action, which is then enhanced by seeing the coin spinning as anime-inspired power effects shoot off it.
- The Humor. Humor is core to Call it!, as is the viral potential of the different whacky opponents and their reactions to the player. The juxtaposition of the mundane subject with the intense visuals heightens this effect.
- The Drama. Players should feel like their fate is balanced on a razor’s edge with every flip. The randomness adds to this. A player could actually still win with only a 10% chance to do so. They could still lose with a 90% chance of winning. By drawing out the anticipation and reveal as long as possible, winning will feel like mastering destiny, while losing will feel like heartbreak.
