Inspiration

In today's fast-paced world, managing schedules and meetings has become increasingly complex. The inspiration for CalendarQR - Extract and Invite came from observing the common struggles of sharing event details quickly and the cumbersome process of manually entering them into digital calendars. We wanted to create a solution that simplifies this process, making it seamless to transfer event details from physical or digital formats directly into users' calendars, fostering better time management and connectivity.

What it does

CalendarQR - Extract and Invite is an application that revolutionizes the way event details are shared and saved into calendars. By using AI and QR code technology, it allows users to extract event information from any text source, and then generates a QR code that contains the event details. Other users can scan this QR code to add the event to their own digital calendars instantly. This process not only reduces the risk of misentering details but also saves a significant amount of time.

How we built it

AWS PartyRock made creating this app very easy...but with limitations.

Challenges we ran into

We wanted to display the QR code directly on the screen, but that action is not allowed in PartyRock. As a stop-gap, we wanted to display a link to the QR code that users could click on...but that is also not possible in PartyRock.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Writing an app with absolutely no code is an impressive feat, and PartyRock enabled this for us with a fairly good level of accuracy. There is a huge potential in this technology, and this is just the beginning, can't wait to see where this takes us!

What we learned

Extracting event data from plain text is a very difficult problem to solve using traditional coding... but by using AI, the results are amazing. We hope that PartyRock will eventually provide better ways to control the actions taken by the AI model, but we believe this is already a pretty good start!

What's next for CalendarQR - Extract and Invite

Our goal is to make CalendarQR an indispensable tool for personal and professional scheduling, one QR code at a time. If the next iteration of PartyRock allows the display of the QR code directly on the page, we hope to take this app to the next level!
