Enhanced Version:

Inspiration

In today's fast-paced world, time is an invaluable resource, and unproductive meetings can be a significant drain on productivity. On average, employees spend about 4 hours per week in meetings, with 30% dedicating over 5 hours to such engagements. Astonishingly, an estimated 24 billion hours are squandered annually due to unproductive meetings. Recently, I spent 30 minutes providing information on a visa application, a task that could have been automated. Considering the limited 24 hours in a day for the average person, optimizing time becomes paramount.

What it does

Cal Bot addresses this time-management challenge by enabling users to create AI agents that can represent them in meetings. These agents replicate the user's speech patterns, content delivery, and even visual appearance. This innovative solution allows users to delegate numerous agents for simultaneous engagement.

How we built it

The foundation of Cal Bot is built on the Calcom fork, integrating the OpenAI API, Eleven Labs, and Cromadb. Overcoming challenges in understanding the codebase, styling integration, and interaction with services such as Eleven Labs and model orchestration were crucial steps in the development process.

Challenges we ran into

Navigating the codebase, implementing styling effectively, and seamlessly integrating with services like Eleven Labs posed significant challenges. Additionally, orchestrating the models for optimal performance required meticulous effort.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The completion of this project has allowed us to showcase a functional prototype that closely aligns with my initial vision. The satisfaction of having a tangible product for demonstration is a significant achievement.

What we learned

This project provided a wealth of learning opportunities, from exploring various AI services to mastering Tailwind CSS. As someone more inclined towards backend development, the experience proved to be both challenging and enriching.

What's next for Cal Bots

The future of Cal Bots holds exciting possibilities. Enhancing the realism of meetings and transitioning to real-time interactions will be a considerable challenge. Our next steps involve refining the user experience, incorporating feedback, and exploring avenues for increased contextual understanding and responsiveness.
