Inspiration

I have always wanted to find a perfect "Study Cafe"—a place where I could focus on my work, but also play games or read a book when I got tired. Since I couldn't find one in real life, I decided to make one as a game!

This is my very first game. I am interested in game development, but I am still learning, so I wanted to build something that came from my own personal daydream.

How we Built It

We used the Godot Engine.

Originally, we tried to make the whole cafe in 3D. However, we realized quickly that we are not an expert at 3D modeling yet, and it didn't look good. We made the difficult decision to switch the game to 2D so it would look cleaner and cozier.

Since we don't know everything about coding yet, we used AI tools to help us write some of the scripts and figure out how to make things work.

Challenges we Faced

The Switch to 2D: Restarting the game from 3D to 2D took a lot of time, but it was the right choice to save the project.

Learning Curve: As a beginner, everything took longer than expected. We had to learn how to make buttons work, how to save files, and how to change scenes.

Time: We didn't have as much time as we wanted, so the game isn't perfect. It is not exactly how we imagined it in our head, but we are proud that we finished it!

What we Learned

We learned that it is okay to change your plan (like switching to 2D) if it makes the game better.

We learned a lot about how Godot works.

Most importantly, We learned how to finish a project even when things get hard.
