Inspiration

It is essential to strike a balance between every ingredient for carbonara to make it perfect. So as our community, we should need to bond our neighbors and friends together to make a better. That's why we propose carBONDnara.

What it does

an application to simplify the process of bonds release and bonds purchase for individuals in the local community

How we built it

we try to locate a problem existing in the reality. and soonly, we realised that people only invest in large companies but not in people surrounding them. However, the local community surrounding us is really important, people might face the challenge and they might be able to bring you to return after they come through this difficult stage.

Challenges we ran into

We are a small team of 2 students, a year 2 business student and a year 1 Computer science student. We both lack experience in building real applications. This is our first time joining a hackathon, from choosing to learn a framework in 48 hours isn't easy for us. But we manage to do it and being really enjoyed about it.

We tried to implement a nestJS server at first, but we soonly realised that we are running out of time. Therefore, we come up with an idea to simply use dummy data, but later on we realised that this is not a good idea as it cannot to much interaction with the user. At last, we are able to find a JSON-SERVER library to host a restful api server.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Since this is our first hackathon, we are proud of making a submission (tbh :p). Since we only a group of 2 members, the workload for each individual is quite high. But we are both very happy when we have a product that is kind of functional !

What we learned

The whole hackathon was a learning quest, we must say, we learned a load of things, including-

  • Start a project with React.js for front-end development
  • Use Node.js as the premier JavaScript web server
  • Use Express(.js) as the Node.js web framework
  • Use MongoDB as the document database
  • Use JSON-Server to start to REST api server

What's next for caBONDnara

  • Better UI
  • Deployment on cloud server
  • seamlessly workflow
