Inspiration

This mini-game was inspired by traditional aim trainers, but redesigned to work in a live event setting where players only have a minute or two. We wanted something that captures the pressure and speed of esports while remaining simple enough for anyone to understand instantly.

What it does

C9 Flick Blitz is a fast-paced aim and reaction game where targets appear briefly in random locations. Players must click each target as quickly and accurately as possible. One missed target immediately ends the run, encouraging focus, precision, and repeated attempts.

How we built it

The game was built as a lightweight web application. We used Lovable to structure and generate the core game logic and UI, and ChatGPT to assist with refining the mechanics, scoring system, and overall flow of the game.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing difficulty was the biggest challenge. If targets stayed on screen too long, the game felt boring; too short, and it became frustrating. We solved this by gradually increasing speed and reducing target size over time, which keeps early gameplay accessible while rewarding skill later on.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of creating a game that is easy to pick up but difficult to master. Each run is short, competitive, and highly replayable, which makes it ideal for a crowded event booth environment.

What we learned

We learned how much iteration and playtesting is required to make a simple game feel engaging. Small changes in timing, scoring, and feedback had a major impact on how enjoyable the game felt.

What's next for C9 Flick Blitz

Next, we want to expand the game with live event leaderboards and additional difficulty modifiers so players can track their improvement and compete against others in real time.
