Inspiration
Our inspiration came from reviewing other STEM education websites that were _too intimidating, expensive, or unfriendly towards beginners. There were also many issues with finding a bridge between learning and applying that suited all learning styles and passions. From these problems, our team dedicated itself to creating the best solution to make learning STEM better for all.
What it does
The site offers lessons and simulations to users, as well as opportunities outside the online classroom to delve deeper into their interested areas of study.
How we built it
We created a wireframe of our website and its functions using Google slides.
Challenges we ran into
It was difficult to improve upon sophisticated, colorfully appealing solutions that already existed in the market. Overall, trying to bridge the issues/gaps between the many different users we could have on the site was our major concern.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our seamless interface that does not overwhelm the user. We've created a solution that accomplishes all its necessary functions and more. IGNITE is more than a website; it's a growing community that sustains and builds on itself.
What we learned
We learned how to create a wireframe that turns our concepts and ideas into reality. We also learned what it takes to make a good website.
What's next for C2 - Simply Co 2 - IGNITE
We can take this to the next level by adding on more sophisticated functions: AR technology for crafting projects, internship opportunities for experienced users, scholarship opportunities for STEM majors, research and site development, etc.
