We want to thank our college Eric Martinez for pitching us this awesome idea. We had never though of making something to do with music in this fashion.

How it works

Using the Unity engine, along with the Oculous rift, we have created a first person view of a circular equalizer where you are the person at the center. All around you, you see the beats of the song rising and dropping. As well as choosing your playlist and the song you would like.

Challenges I ran into

At first, we wanted to use the beats audio API from Mashery, but the problem was that when we called the data from the API, it would send us the song in an SWF file, and unity only likes audio files in .ogg and .mp3 format. So we had to scratch that idea and try and use a local library.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The entire project honestly. It was such a learning experience and nerve racking, mostly due to the time loss because of the internet problems during half the Hackathon. Creating a project in 12hrs really stressed our abilities.

What I learned

We learned that if we really push ourselves we can really create something awesome in a short amount of time.

What's next for C the music

More algorithms to represent music based on the genre.
