Pressing 1 prints the list

Pressing 5 warns you before allowing you to delete the list and makes you enter a password (1234 BTW)
-
Entering username when loading the program allows items to be accessible to that user
-
Pressing 3 removes item from list
-
Pressing 4 saves the list
What it does
Adds items to a database based on the username argument entered when launching the program. Items can also be removed and the database entries can be outputted for each user who enters their username. The entire database can also be deleted if the user enters the correct password and can't if they don't know the password
How I built it
Using Visual Studio Code and a bunch of C++ extensions. Including a simplified way of compiling all the files together using a Make-file.
Challenges I ran into
The punctuation of the programming language (i.e. '==' to '=' and the semi colons on most lines) made code partially frustrating to debug properly. Also I couldn't safely delete the compiled files from the repo using the git-ignore file after I already pushed changes the first time.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Creating and editing a make-file for the project Pushing and committing directly from the code editor
What I learned
How to output strings within C++ How to import classes from separate files within C++ and use object-oriented programming within C++ How to compile code using the make-file How to add or delete data from a database file using a C++ code
Built With
- c++
- visual-studio-code
