BYTES

Not being able to keep track of recipes, not being able to decide on what to cook, or not knowing what you can make with the ingredients you have is a problem of the past with Bytes.

Simply scan and upload your recipes into your virtual cookbook. BYTES will organize your recipes alphabetically for effortless pinpointing. BYTES utilizes generative AI to suggest personalized meal recommendations based on what you’re in the mood for, what ingredients you already have on hand, and will take your weekly grocery budget into consideration.

We built BYTES using React, MUI, FastAPI, OpenAI, OCR, JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS

Having to relearn React structure as well as integration between FastAPI, OpenAI, and OCR was a challenge. We worked hard to push past the barriers and obstacles we faced to have a demo of our project available.

First off, we are proud of the sprint we made to come up with a project, story board it, implement it, and demo it within 48 hours. We are also proud of our ability as a team to help each other out and work together to learn new integration techniques and utilize tools that allowed us to complete our project.

We reviewed our understanding of React and ORC. We were able to learn about FastAPI and OpenAI integration. These things were very fun to learn about and work with.

We live in the same city and will continue to work on projects together. BYTES will continue to receive support and development from our team when we are able to get together. This was a fun project and brought our team closer together.
