Byte the Bullet is a fast-paced party game for coders! Players collaboratively solve a fun coding challenge in 30 second rounds where only one person can edit a limited number of characters. Whoever contributes the most in the passing submission wins!

We were inspired by Gartic Phone and skribbl.io, games where players take turns drawing in short rounds. We wanted to create an educational and collaborative game that would be fun for coders to play together. While the current problems are from Leetcode, we hope to expand this to many other types of challenges in the future.

For frontend we used Svelte, and for backend we used Express.js, Typescript, and Python. A lot of our tech was new to us—for example, none of us had worked with Svelte or websockets, which powered our multiplayer system. We also used Digital Ocean to host our game, and it was very rewarding to have something we could have everyone run and demo live.

Create a game and invite your friends to play at http://64.225.20.175:3000/!
