Inspiration

I know many people that struggle with helping elderly loved ones with tech support. That's why I created Byte Aid. We as high school students know technology well and know all the tips and tricks to help.

What it does

This is a platform for high school students to help seniors with tech support remotely. We have the ability to communicate via phone, email, or video call.

How I built it

The main interface is a basic, easy to navigate website that I built with HTML and CSS. On the back end is a powerful enterprise support tool called Zoho Desk. It lets all support agents see the cases neatly laid out, and cases can be assigned to different agents depending on the type of problem.

Challenges I ran into

This was my first time actually building a website, and I had to learn and figure a lot of stuff out. I already had some basic HTML knowledge, but not much else.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I built this entire website from scratch and I learned how to harness the power of Zoho's tools.

What I learned

I learned to put my basic HTML knowledge all together and to use CSS to format my website.

What's next for Byte Aid

Byte Aid will go on to be a widely used tool. Seniors will come and submit tickets and we will help them. Byte Aid will be recruiting high school students to come help with tech support. This is a great volunteer opportunity and way to help the community.
