Inspiration

We love HubSpot and over the last six years of being a Solutions Partner, we have just become more and more ingrained in the sprocket culture. With the roll out of themes, we were excited about all of the new opportunities to build amazing things for ourselves and clients within the HubSpot CMS.

What it does

The Buzz Theme is a multi-purpose theme where you can really create anything you need out of your website. We have included some premium custom modules like our hover blocks modules (2, 3, 4, and 4 column square modules), re-arrangeable columns, and podcast modules; just to name a few.

How we built it

The theme was built upon the HubSpot theme boilerplate and uses best practices. We also included our custom modules and some standard modules to build the best experience possible.

Challenges we ran into

We decided to make this a free theme for the hackathon so we struggled with the balance of providing a great experience and too much value. We have included a couple modules in this free theme that we plan to sell in the marketplace, but we also have plans to expand upon this theme and create a paid, premium version.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our team is submitting two themes to the hackathon and we're proud that we were able to work together and create two completely different and fun themes for the marketplace, each with more than you'd expect out of a free theme.

What we learned

We really learned a lot about themes. These were the first two themes that our team has produced and doing so really taught our team a ton. We are excited to continue to create amazing HubSpot CMS themes for years to come.

What's next for Buzz Theme

The next steps will include cloning and creating a premium, paid theme with the addition of 20+ new modules and new templates to create an amazing website for any industry. We also plan to build out full demos for multiple industries.
