Inspiration

Buzz: The Bug Hunter is inspired by all the programmers who love learning new technologies and languages but "Bugs" don't let them enjoy the experience and that's where "BuZZ" comes into play. Buzz will help you get over the stress by killing some ghosts who stand to be bug's friends and want to add errors to your code. You will get to kill them in a fun little game.

What it does

It makes use of HTML's Canvas to lay out a pretty simple yet dynamic battleground with fixed boundaries and adds some Ghosts and "BuZZ". All the characters are controlled using JavaScript where the movement of "BuZZ" can be controlled by users and the movement of ghosts are random.

How I built it

I used HTML Canvas to layout the groundwork, Then I used Pixelmator Pro to design the characters like Ghosts and BuZZ. Then I used JavaScript to randomise the movement of Ghosts and controlling Buzz's movement.

Challenges I ran into

I face a lot of challenges throughout this weekend as I am new to this whole Hackathon workflow, It was quite difficult for me to manage and divide my time among the tasks. It took a whole lot of time to design all the assets and sprites used in the game. It was a nerve-wracking experience to use JavaScript to control all the aspects of the game.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The biggest accomplishment for me is that I challenged myself to participate in a hackathon and built something crazy throughout the weekend.

What I learned

I learned how to use HTML Canvas and control the motion of the game using JavaScript only.

What's next for BuZZ: The Bug Hunter

Currently, BuZZ can't do a whole lot of things but I would love to create new levels with incremental difficulty and add some other weapons to help Buzz.
