Inspiration
Decided to explore pop culture through music because we thought that this is something that everyone has had experience with. As for the inspiration for the mini game, it came from the memory of playing web games we used to play to kill time. Like buzzfeed quizzes, and coolmathgames.
What it does
Explores what makes songs popular. Through various graphs and a mini game where you can choose which songs you think are more popular.
How we built it
We built the site using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create an interactive game where users compare the popularity of songs. We used the Spotify Web API to get real-time track data and styled the interface with a Spotify-inspired design.
Challenges we ran into
Dataset was too small/not enough information Inaccurate and inconsistent details (wrong genres) Too many missing elements in rows not knowing how to build a website how to link the website onto github
