Inspiration
My inspiration for this project is my friends who keep sending voice notes as they are lazy to type. The app targets people like my friends :p and people who when type write 'u' in place of you and sometimes omit vowels. It's hard to understand their texts. That's why we need apps like Buzz. Also, I like the idea of falling for people's voice and what they say instead of how they look.
What it does
It's a new kind of social media where you don't post pictures or write post but record voice all conversations and interaction is via voice. Inspired by Instagram but different in many ways. Instead of a story, you post daily banters which appear on top similar to Instagram. On the profile, you don't have followers but listeners, and instead of following we have listening. In place of posts on Buzz, users upload an audio post and their listeners can comment by voice recording.
How we built it
I built it using Flutter, a cross-platform development framework that allows you to develop apps for multiple platforms with a single codebase. I used Firebase storage for storing data. And flutter packages for different functionalities.
Challenges we ran into
I was implementing many features for the first time so had a hard time understanding how things work and spent a lot of time watching tutorials, searching answers on StackOverflow, and implementing features.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of what I built so far. I will definitely work on this project after the hackathon and share it with friends and family members because I know Buzz will come in handy to them.
What I learned
I learned a lot while working on this project.
What's next for Buzz
Buzz will have more features to improve user experience like options to have filters for voice similar to insta filters to images.
