Inspiration: The project was inspired by the growing popularity of cryptocurrencies and the desire to empower content creators to receive direct support from their audiences in a decentralized and transparent way.
What We Learned:
Blockchain Integration: We learned how to integrate blockchain technology (Ethereum) into a web application using the Web3.js library and Ethereum smart contracts.
Decentralized Finance (DeFi): We gained insights into how DeFi protocols work, particularly in the context of microtransactions and tips.
Wallet Integration: We learned how to connect and interact with users' Ethereum wallets, such as MetaMask, to enable secure transactions.
How We Built the Project:
Spheron GPT: To convert code from rust to solidity
Smart Contracts: We created Ethereum smart contracts using Solidity to handle the tipping mechanism and memo storage.
Web Application: The front end was developed using the Next.js framework (React) to provide a seamless and responsive user interface.
Wallet Integration: We integrated MetaMask for wallet interactions, including account connection and transaction signing.
Real-time Updates: We used Ethereum event listeners to provide real-time updates on new tips and memos.
This project was created to bridge the gap between content creators and their supporters by providing a secure and decentralized platform for microtransactions. While it presented technical challenges, it was a valuable learning experience in blockchain development and DeFi.
