Inspiration
Shaina was 5 years old when her father passed away in February of 2002 from pancreatic cancer. Since the age of 6 years old, she has spent 19 years volunteering and fundraising for grief support. Shaina is a believer that connection with others who are experiencing grief is central to the healing process, and Butterfly Book is a stepping stone in that process. Shaina’s only connection to her father has been through stories and pictures, so she created Butterfly Book for other people grieving, especially children, to have an online collection of that connection that they can revisit at any time.
