Inspiration
Sometimes real time updates through Text & Ride and Transit Apps are inaccurate. Also we are willing to take a longer route if we can avoid crowded buses/stations
What it does
Gives the user real time data on arrival times and station crowdedness through a web and sms interface
How we built it
Analyzed real time GTFS data Count people using the YoLo video model Collect data on the Django backend Reply to text messages through twilio on the Django Backend Present data on the React front end
Challenges we ran into
In the data we analyzed, the buses were relatively on time today due to good weather A lot of effort to create scripts to convert data formats (protobuf -> json -> sql)
