BusPro – AI-Powered Smart Transportation Platform

Inspiration

Millions of students, employees, and commuters waste valuable time every day due to inefficient transportation systems. Traditional bus management relies on static schedules, manual attendance, and limited visibility into vehicle locations.

We wanted to build a platform that makes public and campus transportation intelligent, predictable, and user-friendly using artificial intelligence and real-time data.

BusPro was created to improve safety, reduce waiting time, optimize routes, and provide a seamless transportation experience for everyone.

The current prototype uses the driver's mobile phone GPS to simulate vehicle tracking. This significantly reduces deployment cost while maintaining real-time functionality. In production, BusPro can integrate directly with dedicated IoT GPS hardware installed inside buses.


Challenges we ran into

Some of the biggest challenges included:

  • Simulating live GPS movement
  • Designing accurate ETA prediction
  • Handling real-time location updates
  • Creating scalable transportation workflows
  • Balancing AI recommendations with real-world constraints
  • Building a responsive dashboard for different user roles

Another challenge was making the platform simple enough for everyday users while still providing powerful analytics for administrators.
