Inspiration

Small and medium-sized businesses generate valuable operational data every day, but many still rely on spreadsheets and manual processes to make important business decisions. Enterprise analytics platforms are often too expensive or complex for smaller businesses.

BusinessPilot AI was inspired by the idea of making business intelligence accessible to everyone. The goal was to build a platform that not only helps businesses manage their operations but also transforms their data into actionable insights using artificial intelligence.

What it does

BusinessPilot AI is an AI-powered business intelligence platform built for small and medium-sized businesses.

The platform enables users to:

  • Manage products, customers, orders, and inventory
  • Monitor business performance through an analytics dashboard
  • Track revenue and operational metrics
  • Receive AI-powered business recommendations
  • Ask natural language questions through an AI Business Advisor
  • Make data-driven decisions using real-time insights

Instead of simply displaying business data, BusinessPilot AI helps users understand what is happening, why it is happening, and what actions they can take next.

Business data is securely stored in AWS Aurora PostgreSQL, while the AI Business Advisor leverages OpenAI to analyze business information and generate meaningful recommendations. The application is deployed on Vercel, providing a fast, scalable, and production-ready user experience.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was designing a scalable architecture that integrates business management features with AI-powered analysis while maintaining a clean and intuitive user experience.

Other challenges included:

  • Designing relational database models for business operations
  • Integrating AWS Aurora PostgreSQL with the application
  • Building responsive dashboards and analytics
  • Managing authentication and secure user sessions
  • Connecting AI responses with structured business data
  • Deploying and configuring a production-ready cloud application

Balancing feature completeness, performance, and usability within the hackathon timeline was another valuable learning experience.
