Inspiration

Small businesses in local markets often struggle to compete with large e-commerce platforms because they lack delivery infrastructure and digital visibility. I wanted to build something that empowers these shops, helps them reach more customers, and gives people the convenience of online shopping while still supporting their local community.

What it does

The app acts as a hyperlocal marketplace:

Customers can browse inventories of nearby shops.

If they want home delivery, the app provides its own delivery agents to fulfill orders.

If they prefer offline shopping, they can check product availability before visiting the store.

This bridges the gap between online convenience and offline trust.

How we built it

Frontend: Next.js + Tailwind CSS for fast, responsive UI.

Backend: Node.js/Express with MongoDB Atlas for cloud-hosted database.

Database design: Collections for shops, products, orders, and delivery agents.
