Inspiration
What it does
It gathers information from the web about location, contact info, and revenue. Beyond what is readily available on the Google Maps API, this application digs into corporate information to provide the most comprehensive info. Its current use case is to show agricultural businesses but can easily be expanded to other use cases as well.
How we built it
The front end was built in HTML and the data was gathered through a Python pipeline calling the Google Places API and using Parsehub to query dun&bakestreet.
Challenges we ran into
In order to retrieve more useful information without excessively calling Google Places API due to the pricing, other sources of data needed to be considered such as Parsehub
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Working only in HTML. Parsehub API was also very finicky and was difficult to integrate.
What we learned
It is important to keep components
