BusCrowd can help!

Crowding data collected and connected to PATransity use stats

Main Goal: To develop a website that helps PATransit users in Pittsburgh PA see if the bus they want to take is crowded or not.

Benefits:

1. Reduce bus crowding
2. Better bus user experience
3. Increase mass transit usage
4. Increase relevant data to PATransit to adjust routes accordingly

What we got:

Historical PATransit data was collected to pull out trends for certain stops at certain times and made into a look up table, converted to a json, read into an html site.

What we could do next:

Then user data can be collected and incorporated into the look up table, to enable new data input and analysis. To be sort of like a Waze for buses
