Inspiration
Teens and high schoolers like us frequently deal with stress and pressure that can ultimately lead to burnout. This process of burnout has become normalized in communities that are academically competitive similar to ours. To prevent burnout, we created BurnoutIQ.
What it does
Calculates a likeliness of becoming burnt out based on user data, such as amount of sleep, workload, and current emotional state. Also provides suggestions to lower likeliness of burnout and tracking of the data points mentioned above
How we built it
Created and designed all pages through online platforms such as Canva, translated into HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code to build the website’s frontend, getting assistance from Claude. Used a node.js backend structure with PostgreSQL as a database and Cursor was used here.
Challenges we ran into
We were not very familiar with using JavaScript, especially using JavaScript with a ChatGPT import
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Aesthetically displays all features we targeted and wanted to implement. Working website with full frontend and backend.
What we learned
How to use an API key in JavaScript
What's next for BurnoutIQ
Including more user input and data, incorporating a mobile app that can easily track and notify users of trends.
