The inspiration to work on the brain waves and understanding its co-relation with the environment came through self exploration on climate change working in 1000 MW Coal fired thermal power plant. As I developed a disease Tinnitinus and struggled over years coping the air and noise pollution that greatly affected the healthy brain development, I found greater peace and tranquility in the nature motivating me to refurbish the energy sector with a distinguished perspective.

The project : "Burning Fossil fuels burns brain waves" is designed to cultivate a comprehensive conclusion that derives the human minds to foster the thinking for a cleaner and healthier environment, and to quench the debate: Climate change is real.

The project was done by sampling EEG data from Lemon dataset for 3 subjects whose behavioral scores are identified with higher trait anxiety for age group 20-30, 2 males, 1 female. The pre processed EEG data is processed in Matlab for frequency analysis and its Power spectral density is captured across 61 channels. The data is captured and plotted for various frequency bands representing different brain waves: alpha, beta, gamma, delta and theta and its distribution across the lobes of the brain.

The challenge was to effectively co-relate the concepts of power industry, and biomedical field to present a social reform that can transform lives of several suffering from routine hazardous exposures detrimental to health in short and long term.

I am proud of being able to put the project together and enjoy indulgence in the work. Also, the environment and enthusiastic spirit of members were a big boost to present the work.
