Inspiration
Burn2Disk was inspired by the idea of making disk burning and related operations easier, more efficient, and accessible. I wanted to build a useful tool that solves a real problem while exploring how AI-assisted development can help turn an idea into a working application.
What it does
Burn2Disk is a project focused on simplifying disk-related operations through a practical and user-friendly approach. It aims to make the process more straightforward while reducing unnecessary complexity for users.
How we built it
We built Burn2Disk using modern development tools and Kiro as our AI-powered development assistant. We used an iterative workflow, breaking the project into smaller tasks, implementing features, testing the results, and refining the application as we progressed.
Kiro helped us explore solutions, organize implementation, and work through development challenges more efficiently.
Challenges we ran into
One of our biggest challenges was translating the initial idea into a functional application. We had to think carefully about the implementation, troubleshoot unexpected issues, and make sure the project worked as intended. Balancing development speed with reliability and usability was another important challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of turning our idea into a real project and bringing it to life during Kiroween. We also take pride in experimenting with AI-assisted development, learning through practical implementation, and creating something that we can continue improving beyond the hackathon.
What we learned
We learned how important it is to break down a project into manageable tasks, approach problems systematically, and test our implementation continuously. We also gained valuable experience using Kiro to support our development workflow and discovered how AI can be a powerful tool when combined with human creativity and technical decision-making.
What's next for burn2disk
We plan to continue improving Burn2Disk by refining its functionality, enhancing the user experience, and addressing areas that need further development. We want to make it more reliable, accessible, and useful while exploring additional features based on user feedback. This hackathon is just the beginning of what Burn2Disk could become.
