Inspiration

Banking services stay so close to our financial health & every day lives, and yet they stay away from helping their customers with income planning, the most core element of one's retirement journey. Buoybord was born to demonstrate that with AI agentic services, traditionally awkward service groupings such as banking + recruiting can come together.

What it does

Buoybord is a retirement dashboard that is embedded into Bank of Anthos. The dashboard comes with an AI agent that not only tracks the user's current balance, monthly income & monthly savings but also recommends job opportunities to the user for additional income opportunities.

How we built it

This was my first time building with GKE, let alone Kubernetes. It was a valuable experience to be able to interact with a pre-built architecture while enjoying a good amouont of freedom to build.

Challenges we ran into

Because this was my first time building with GKE and using Docker to create images, I went through a learning curve of how microservices communicate with one another and how Kubernetes workflows work around images, clusters, etc.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Buoybord is a service that could actually provide huge value if implemented in real life. Buoybord has many features that people can explore and rethink what could be possible building on top of traditional banking services.
