Inspiration We read reviews on Trustpilot and Reddit and noticed that many users were unhappy with how support worked. People wanted quick, clear help but often got confusing or delayed responses. That’s what inspired us to build a smarter support assistant.

What it does bunq mate is an AI assistant that helps users in real time. It can see what’s on the user’s screen, understand their questions, and guide them step-by-step to solve issues instantly.

How we built it We built a browser pop-up using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Our backend uses FastAPI in Python. We connected it to Google Gemini through AI Studio, allowing it to process live screen input and user questions to give accurate, helpful replies.

Challenges we ran into One challenge was streaming screen content smoothly without delay. Another was making sure the AI gave answers that matched what was happening on the screen. We also worked hard to make the assistant feel natural and helpful.

Accomplishments that we're proud of We’re proud that we built a working prototype in a short time. It gives real-time help in multiple user flows. We also translated real user complaints into a solution that actually works.

What we learned We learned how to use live data with AI, how to improve user experience through better support, and how powerful AI can be when it’s used to solve real problems.

What's next for bunq mate We want to add voice support, make it mobile-friendly, and scale it across more platforms. The goal is to make bunq mate a core part of bunq’s support system, helping millions of users around the world.
