Inspiration

Freelancers and independent workers often spend too much time juggling between multiple invoices and "chasing" money - sending awkward follow-up emails instead of doing the work they love.

What it does

Bunq Lance is an agentic AI assistant that automates the entire payment lifecycle. Through uploading an invoice document sent to customers, an AI agent autonomously contacts the client via email or text to request payment. Through verifying payment transactions, the agent confirms when payment arrives.

How we built it

We leveraged a modern stack focused on automation and intelligence:

Challenges we ran into

Ensuring the AI follows up with the right frequency: firm enough to get paid, but professional enough to maintain the freelancer's client relationships.

During the design phase, we also had to keep in mind the degree of autonomy given to the agent and how involved a human should be.
