Inspiration

I wanted to create a friendly daily planning companion that makes organizing everyday tasks feel simple, encouraging, and less overwhelming. I imagined a cute, expressive bunny that could accompany users throughout their daily planning routine.

What it does

Bunny Planner is an interactive daily planning web app that helps users add tasks, plan their day, mark tasks as completed, and track their progress streak. It features an expressive bunny companion, a chat-style interface, and a help feature.

The current experience works without requiring an AI API key. It also includes an MCP client interface that communicates with the planner's MCP endpoint using Streamable HTTP.

How we built it

I built Bunny Planner as a web application using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and deployed it using Cloudflare Workers. The project includes an MCP client interface and an MCP server endpoint designed to expose daily planning tools.

I tested the MCP initialization process and received a successful response from the Bunny Planner server using protocol version 2025-11-25. The interface is designed to make daily planning more engaging through an interactive bunny companion.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was making the planning features work reliably and ensuring that different task actions worked correctly together. I had to troubleshoot issues, test the app, and make fixes to improve its functionality.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud to have built and deployed an interactive planning app with task management, daily planning, progress tracking, and an expressive bunny companion. I'm also proud that the app works without requiring an AI API key and that I successfully tested the MCP initialization connection.

What we learned

This project helped me learn more about building and deploying web applications, connecting interfaces to backend functionality, working with the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and troubleshooting problems through testing and iteration.

What's next for Bunny Planner

In the future, I hope to add optional AI integration, more personalized daily plans, additional bunny expressions, and improved task management features. I also want to test the MCP tools further and expand the planner's capabilities.
