Inspiration
When the Bunny Museum was destroyed, various people in China were inspired to help raise funds. There was one particular GoFundMe profile (which we ended up linking to the donation) that ultimately made us decide our purpose of this game.
What it does
The mobile AR experience is both a gamification experience of the Bunny Museum's recent destruction during the LA wildfire, ending with a link to a fundraiser where users can donate and make a change.
How we built it
As a mobile AR, our experience was built in Unity. We attempted various interactions with 8th Wall Niantic, but ultimately utilized Unity.
Challenges we ran into
We faced various tech issues, from Unity crashing to 8th Wall not working. However, all this prompted us to continue to find solutions.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are most proud of getting the wind-blowing interaction working where users can blow on the microphone and, with a loud-enough sound, eliminate the fires in the game.
What we learned
We learned that when deciding on what kind of experience to create, it's ultimately most important to decide its end purpose and what bigger impact it may have in the future. Rather than just the appealing tech interactions or visuals.
What's next for Bunny Museum AR
We hope to improve and expand the interaction experience, as we only had a few days to work on this.
