Inspiration
As a person that enjoys words of affirmations, I realized often many queer folks do not receive the statements/compliments they often do.
What it does
We want to make an app that will send positive & validating messages (Words of Affirmation), primarily for queer folks that have trouble feeling self-validated. We want to give options to customize content, and allow for people to create their own messages that can be shared with other people
How we built it
We build the program through the progressive web app Flask. Front end development utilized a mix of html, css, and js in Visual Studios Code.
Challenges we ran into
None of us literally had interacted with website development before. Playing around with all the programs and understanding the process had a learning curve
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating the backend, and the server, and seeing it run.
What we learned
There is so much to webdev, but our mentor made so accessible. That there are plenty of resources for learning more about any kind of software.
