Inspiration
We have all been fortunate enough to never have been involved in instances of bullying. It is always shocking to hear of its prominence in our schools and communities, and realized that there was a lot more we could do to prevent this.
What it does
Our app lets witnesses and victims of bullying to report what they know and alert school admin about the situation. This allows for more information to be sent to admin and encourages students to step up and offer important information.
How we built it
Our app mainly consists of a short survey prompting the student to report their position as a witness or a victim, type of bullying, time and date, location, and people involved, as well as an option to leave contact information if they so wish.
Challenges we ran into
We had issues figuring out how to combine each section of the survey into a single message to be sent to the admin. We were able to solve this by joining each textbox response.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to complete the basis of our idea to the best of our ability. When we ran the app we were able to send messages containing the right information.
What we learned
We learned how to use MIT app inventor and we practiced problem solving issues that came up.
