Bullying can be terrifying; a lot of kids ganging up on each other. It can be damaging to one’s self esteem and can impact their mental health forever. Because of this, bullying is a huge problem that needs to be addressed in order to help targets and bystanders stand up against the bully. While one website can’t prevent all bullying, we thought it could at least give some helpful advice on what to do if you think you or someone else is being bullied. And so, we decided to create a website about bullying prevention. We started off with a definition, because to fix something, it must be understood first. From there, we added strategies on how to diagnose bullying so you’re able to report it to a trusted adult. In addition, we included how one must stand up against bullies in order to make them stop harassing you. Also included was how to support those who might be going through being bullied, how to help one’s friends. A few key takeaways from the website were then listed, as a summarized version of the rest of the site. Finally, we put in resources that people could access to help them stand up to bullying. The website was created through Canva, in which we were able to add enticing graphics, photos, and even a picture drawn by someone in our group. To create our text, we pulled from past knowledge picked up in school and additionally researched to add more to our repertoire. This allowed us to create a website that was rich in practical advice and ideas to prevent bullying. Creating it through Canva allowed us to easily translate our knowledge into the form of a website, but all of it is of our own creation. Our goal with the website was to hopefully reach out to a few people in need and to help them overcome and stand up to bullying. We can’t fix bullying as a whole, but we can put some good out into the world.
