How we built it

💻 Frontend: Lightning-Fast with Next.js

  • We chose Next.js for its hybrid rendering and exceptional performance. It gives users a buttery-smooth experience with instant load times and SEO-ready pages — essential for growth and discoverability.

⚙️ Backend: Real-Time & Scalable with Node.js

  • Our backend, built with Node.js, supports real-time interactions and scales effortlessly. Whether it's simulating live interviews or syncing the latest job data, Bull-ish stays fast and responsive.

🔥 Database: Firebase for Instant Sync

  • We use Firebase to handle real-time data, secure user sessions, and store performance logs. It lets us prototype, deploy, and scale globally with minimal overhead — perfect for rapid iteration.

🧠 AI Core: Our Interview Coach Brain

  • At the heart of Bull-ish is a fine-tuned Large Language Model, enhanced with custom in-house prompts to mimic real-world interviewers. We don’t just generate responses — we simulate contextual, human-like coaching.
  • Trained to understand behavioral nuances, coding explanations, and verbal communication styles
  • Tailored prompts to reduce hallucinations and maximize constructive feedback

🗣️ Voice Technology: Natural Conversation via ElevenLabs

  • We integrated ElevenLabs for both Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text, creating a frictionless user experience:

Challenges we ran into

  • Scale the big project, focus too much on fancy extra features but forget about invent and simplify mindset

  • Create a web-application that actually help student practice communication and monitor the job listing market everyday within missing a beat.

What we learned

  • Team work, new tech stack, Prompt Engineering such that LLM Models understand the human natural langagues.
