Inspiration The idea for BuildSocialPost.com came from my struggle with creating high-quality social media carousels consistently. Platforms like LinkedIn, TikTok, and Instagram demand engaging content, but crafting fresh designs and compelling posts takes time and effort. I realized that AI could simplify this process, allowing creators and businesses to focus more on strategy and storytelling rather than getting bogged down by content creation and design challenges.

The mission is simple: help creators, marketers, and businesses build beautiful, impactful posts without needing advanced design skills or endless brainstorming sessions.

How I Built It The platform was built with a focus on speed, scalability, and flexibility using the following tech stack:

Frontend: Next.js + Tailwind CSS for a modern, responsive UI. Backend: Nest.js to handle API requests efficiently. Database: PostgreSQL to store user data and ensure scalability. AI Integration: Using OpenAI’s models for content generation and customization. Hosting: Deployed on Vercel for fast and reliable performance. Migration from Firebase: Transitioned to PostgreSQL to avoid vendor lock-in and enable full control over the database. Challenges I Ran Into Migrating from Firebase to PostgreSQL: Ensuring data consistency and smooth performance during the transition was challenging. Content Customization for Multiple Platforms: Adapting the tone and style of AI-generated content to suit LinkedIn, TikTok, and Instagram required testing and feedback. Balancing Simplicity and Flexibility: Keeping the UI easy to use while offering powerful customization options took multiple iterations. Optimizing Performance: Ensuring the backend (Nest.js + PostgreSQL) could handle AI requests efficiently and scale with user demand. Accomplishments That I'm Proud Of Seamlessly migrating to PostgreSQL for a reliable and scalable backend infrastructure. Successfully rebranding from BuildCarousel.com to BuildSocialPost.com, expanding the tool’s vision. Creating a dark-themed UI for an engaging user experience. Building AI-powered features that genuinely help users save time and energy. Sharing the development journey publicly with #buildinpublic, fostering community engagement and learning. What I Learned The power of PostgreSQL: A robust, scalable database is critical for managing complex data structures. The importance of flexibility: Moving away from Firebase unlocked more opportunities for growth.
