Building Tomorrow's Tech Talent

Inspiration:

We wanted to address the growing gap between job seekers and the rapidly evolving job market, while also helping educators keep their curriculum aligned with real-time industry demands.

What it does:

The platform extracts skills from resumes, identifies skill gaps based on target roles, and provides personalized learning recommendations. It also helps educators adjust their curriculum to meet current job market trends.

How we built it:

We used a combination of React for the frontend and Flask for the backend, integrated with APIs for resume parsing (using Ollama) and job scraping from LinkedIn. APIs also provide skill gap analysis and personalized learning paths.

Challenges we ran into:

We faced challenges in accurately scraping job data, ensuring seamless API integration, and optimizing skill extraction from varied resume formats.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

We successfully built a system that provides real-time skill analysis and personalized learning paths for job seekers, and curriculum recommendations for educators.

What we learned:

We learned how to implement real-time data scraping, advanced NLP for skill extraction, and how to deliver personalized recommendations based on data analysis.

Future plans include expanding job scraping to more platforms, adding mentorship features, and providing more advanced analytics for both job seekers and educators.
