Inspiration
Build Rooms Tycoon is inspired by the classic Roblox tycoon games I’ve played and developed over the years. I wanted to create a short but fun experience that players can enjoy in 10–15 minutes.
What it does
You start with a small build area and expand by constructing unique rooms that generate income. The goal is fast progress, satisfying growth, and a light, enjoyable gameplay loop.
How we built it
This project was created using a mix of:
- Free-to-use models
- Models I designed myself
- AI-generated models
For the scripting, I relied heavily on AI assistance, since TypeScript is a new language for me. The focus was optimizing time and delivering a complete first version of the game.
Challenges we ran into
The toughest obstacle was adapting to the Worlds Desktop Editor Workflow. Many systems work very differently than what I’m used to, so I spent time learning new tools and approaches.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This is my first finished game on this platform — and I’m proud I was able to complete it despite the learning curve and limited time.
What we learned
I learned a new and highly efficient workflow based on time optimization. I couldn’t dive deep into complex features, so I focused on getting things done quickly and creatively while still keeping quality in mind.
What's next for Build Rooms Tycoon
This version is just a small demonstration of the game loop. Going forward, I want to:
- Build a more solid gameplay foundation
- Add game-feel and juicy interactions to better engage players
- Expand progression so the game lasts longer
- Polish visual feedback and room interactions
Built With
- claude
- meta
- typescript
