Inspiration

Construction professionals often manage site measurements, cost estimates, materials, labour, daily progress, expenses and reports using separate tools. Build Book was created to bring these essential workflows into one mobile workspace for builders, engineers, contractors, real estate professionals and property owners.

What it does

Build Book combines Site Measure CAD, construction cost estimation, project management, daily site diaries, materials and labour records, income and expense tracking, tasks, and project reports. Its goal is to simplify the daily work of planning, building and managing construction projects.

How we built it

We built Build Book using React Native, Expo and TypeScript for Android. RevenueCat powers our freemium subscription system, including premium plans, purchases, restoration and access to premium features.

Challenges we faced

The biggest challenge was bringing many different construction workflows into one mobile app without making it complicated. We also worked on integrating RevenueCat with premium feature access and creating a smooth journey from the free experience to a paid subscription.

What we learned

Building Build Book taught us how to organize complex, real-world workflows into a practical mobile experience and implement subscription-based access using RevenueCat.

What's next

We plan to expand Build Book with team collaboration, more advanced reporting and additional tools for construction and real estate professionals.
