Inspiration
We wanted a skyline builder that fits into the gaps of a busy day. Build A Tower blends tactile stacking with quick-hit progression so every upgrade feels like turning fun and creativity into progression.
What it does
Players grab an empty plot, place blocks to raise their tower, and earn credits they can invest into new blocks and customize their tower.
How we built it
Server-side scripts manage persistence, while mobile-tuned UI components guide the next action with as few taps as possible. The conversational AI host, authored through the GenAI editor, sits alongside a custom skybox to keep the world lively without extra art overhead.
Challenges we ran into
Balancing bite-sized pacing with meaningful upgrades. Keeping towers consistent across sessions and integrating Custom UI.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We shipped an engaging persistent tycoon featuring Gen AI and enabling users to express themselves by customizing unique buildings.
What we learned
Designing for Horizon mobile means obsessing over clarity and gesture reach. We also learned how to blend GenAI systems with handcrafted systems while keeping tone consistent.
What's next for Build A Tower Tycoon
Next steps include new upgrades, cooperative building, richer cosmetic rewards, and new building block types.
