Inspiration
Using AI to help students learn in any way possible.
What it does
It is a web app that helps students learn more efficiently by taking them through quizzes and using AI to give them questions that improve their learning by giving them perfect questions based on their quizzing history. This project also has the functionality to summarize sections of livestream or youtube videos for students. Giving them summarized sections in videos in a pop up card in the bottom right of the page. Also it is available to ask the student questions related the video that are generated by the python script using AI.
How we built it
We built this using HTML CSS React and left room open for Firebase and ChatGPT integration.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into limitations of the ChatGPT API currently only being able to offer a language model that you can modify. This had us run into problems with the integration of firebase data and having it being able to read and propose proper suggestions. ChatGPT AI also has a paywall and many of us were scared because we didn't want to rack up tokens or requests. Also, the Google Speech recognition for Video summarization also had a pay wall.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We wrote website that is very visually appealing and functional in its prototyping. Also, the Python software of creating and reading the video subtitles and offering a summarization was a work of art.
What we learned
We learned the current strengths of AI and what it is good at and what it could possibly be in the future with further development.
What's next for BuffPrepAI
AI Coach that is able to grow with the user. Also fully integrate AI with everything on our website because although AI has come a very far way and very quickly it still has some limitations for smaller-scale projects that can't access everything OpenAI has to offer. Also, we are looking to eventually build our own AI for even more personalization with data because ChatGPT scrapes your data while you're using it. Building your own AI would allow for less of your data being sent to openAI and that would allow for less cheating.
