Inspiration

CNBC's millennial money. I liked seeing the budget of successful people on the show shown in a graphical form because it was easy to understand. I want to be able to compare myself with them to see the right moves or mistakes that I am making.

What it does

Provides a doughnut graphical representation of a budget.

How we built it

HTML, CSS, Javascript + Chart.JS

Challenges we ran into

I initially wanted to work together with some friends but due to scheduling issues we had to scrap our plans and start later and separately

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Achieved a working MVP of our product that I could use to compare myself to successful individuals that I respect. I tweaked my miscellaneous costs based on that!

What's next for Budget Visualizer

I plan to add the ability to custom add as many expense categories as you'd like as well as an option to view example budget splits of successful people and friends to compare. I also hope to add the option to save budget splits so you can track your progress as it changes. Much more to come!
