Inspiration
To help young adults like us how to save money in an efficient way
What it does
It has a page that will redirect users to different websites such as RRSP, Self-directed Investing and Stock Investing
How we built it
We did the Sunlife Challenge. We created a basic front-end website using HTML and CSS. We managed to link the welcome, investment, and about us pages. We successfully designed a welcome page with a scroll-down navigation bar, an investment page with different tips to help people finance their spending effectively by redirecting each tip to a trustable website. We also created an about us page that contains all of our information on LinkedIn. Last but not least, we created a forward, previous buttons that can take you from one page to another
Challenges we ran into
Not all members knew about the programming tools (HTML, PHP, CSS). So, we had to learn. Another conflict was getting HTML and JS getting worked together (linking them together)
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being able to create a presentable front-end website in a short amount of time. This was our first time doing Hackathon.
What we learned
We learned how to start a project, brainstorm, build it and implement in less than 24 hours by applying front end development using HTML, CSS style and PHP. This gave us the skills of leadership, collaboration, separate the tasks equally for all the team members. Also, using a Github repository for the project, push and pull functions, creating branches in order to conserve the high quality of modulation. This also allowed us to experience a tied deadline and work under a strict deadline.
What's next for Budget Saving
We add a quiz feature and a login/log out to track our expenses and to show graphs indicating our statement status, current investment
